Join us for this immersive hands-on photography retreat concentrating on macro and closeup nature photography with dedicated sessions on water drop refraction, in-camera Focus Stacking, True 1:1 macro, Focus Bracketing, Lightpainting using the Live Composite computational technology, photographing insects at night, and more.
WHO: All skill levels & ages are welcome (16 & under must be accompanied by an adult), Any camera model is welcome, but for some of the sessions utilizing computational technologies you will place your SD card into a loaner OM SYSTEM camera.
What: An immersive hands-on macro and closeup photography retreat with multiple OM SYSTEM ambassadors and a low participant-to-instructor ratio
When: Sept 6-9, 2024 (5pm Friday to 4pm Monday)
Where: 165 Little River Rd, North Berwick, ME 03906
How: The Retreat will be run with six small groups and every participant will rotate each of the six sessions (topic/instructor)
- Emilie Talpin: Refraction (water drops/flowers)
- Chris McGinnis: Unlocking Details with 1:1 Macro and Focus Bracketing
- Lisa Cuchara: Focus Stacking (in-camera)
- Tom Cuchara: Lightpainting forest subjects (mushrooms, pinecones, flowers, and more) using the computational technology of daylight Live Composite
- Eric Rock: Focusing, color, Depth of field, and More
- Steve Morello: Composition for Impact; Beyond the Exposure Triangle
- Bonus optional after dark evening session
Retreat Itinerary
Prior to the Retreat
Pre-Retreat Live Zoom: One hour meet & greet, go over gear list and logistics, Q&A
Six Pre-Retreat Zoom teaching sessions
Retreat Day 1 Friday Sept 6th 5pm-8pm
5pm: Participants arrive
6-8pm: Participant meet and greet (pizza & salad, food included in fee)
Retreat Day 2 Saturday Sept 7th 7am to 4pm; optional dinner**
7am-10am: Session 1
10am-1pm: Connecting with instructors and fellow photographers; Lunch*
1pm-4pm: Session 2
Retreat Day 2 Sun. Sept 8th 7am to 4pm; optional dinner**; Optional Bonus Night Session
7am-10am: Session 3
10am-1pm: Connecting with instructors and fellow photographers; Lunch*
1pm-4pm: Session 4
7pm-9pm: Optional Bonus Night Session (included in Retreat fee)
